I stabbed Super TV CEO – Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, a 21-year-old 300L UNILAG student when he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, a 21-year-old 300-level student at the University of Lagos’ Department of Mass Communication, has described how she stabbed her lover, Super TV CEO Mr Usifo Ataga, to death in Lekki, Lagos, while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, paraded the suspect at the state police command in Ikeja on Thursday, where she gave a comprehensive description of the events that led to her lover’s murder.
On Wednesday night, Ojukwu was detained at her parents’ home in the Yaba neighborhood of Lagos, according to Odumosu.
“We’ve been in a romantic relationship for about four months,” she said during the procession.
“On Sunday, June 13th, he requested that I find a place for us to stay. I looked it up online and emailed it to him; he asked me to go look at it, which I did and paid for.
“On Monday, June 14, we were drinking and smoking together, and I went to grab food as well. He was making overtures toward me on Tuesday, June 15, and I resisted, so he grew violent and eventually got his way.
Below is a Youtube Video of her talking about drinking alcohol and smoking Loud (Marijuana):
“In the afternoon, he ordered roofies, ate them, and we got high because I smoked with him, despite the fact that I was still angry over the first one he did.
“So there I was, alone on the couch, watching a movie. He approached me again, and I declined because I was dissatisfied with him.
“I told him he wasn’t helping me and was just messing with me. I had to protect myself because he kept attempting to make advances and I was resisting.
“At one point, he choked me after hitting my head against the wall. I attempted to flee, but the door was shut, so he drew me back in.
“I took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him in the neck twice before throwing the knife on the bed.
“When he reached for the knife, I grabbed it again and stabbed him for the third time,” she explained.
“After he went unconscious, I left the flat without anyone knowing what happened inside,” the suspect added. Later, I went to the bank and took N380,000 out of his account.”
She claimed she only took N380,000 from Ataga’s account when she fled, not N5 million.
While speaking to reporters, Odumosu stated that the student quickly changed her clothes and departed the flat following the event.
On Wednesday, June 16, after the door was broken down, Ataga’s body was discovered in a pool of blood when it came time to clean the apartment, according to Odumosu.
The suspect got away with the victim’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card, which he used to withdraw money from his account, according to Odumosu.
The police commissioner stated that he felt it was vital to inform the public about the inquiry because there had been false information circulated about the incident.
Odumosu also asked the public to use social media for good rather than for spreading false information.
