The Benin Republic government has leveled new accusations against the sought Yoruba nation agitator as the Sunday Igboho saga continues.

Ibrahim Salami, one of Sunday Igboho’s lawyers, told BBC Yoruba that the activist’s legal team was awaiting extradition charges from the Nigerian government.

Igboho was also remanded to allow police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the charges, which included unlawful migration, dubious collusion with immigration agents, and an attempt to provoke public disorder, according to him.

Igboho was also remanded, according to Salami, to allow police to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the charges, which included unlawful migration, questionable collusion with immigration agents, and an attempt to incite social disorder.

“First and foremost, the judge wanted to know how Sunday Igboho got into the Benin Republic illegally. They also want to know how Sunday Igboho and others plotted to enter the Benin Republic illegally.

“They also want to know how long he’s been in the Benin Republic and what his goals are there. They also asked if he wanted to travel to Benin Republic and cause unrest or social disturbance,” the lawyer stated in an interview with BBC Yoruba.
